DESCRIPTION

War Never Changes is an audio visual performance by Y.UNAN and Random Input which depicts processes and elements of war. Random Input informs the audience with visuals while Y.UNAN sets the mood with audio.

WNC is a project that focuses on systematic processes of war.
We question reasons behind wars to reveal facts.
We question the motives behind it not to be illusioned by it.

We focus on the concept of war as a force, a factor and a process.
We explore its impacts, influences and cycles.

We acknowledge it as a complex mechanism.
We identify its components and we expose its actors.

We inquire into means of ending it.
What are the ways to sabotage this mechanism of brutality?
How can this mechanism become obsolete?

WAR is an ongoing system that does not seem to cease.
It won't go away unless there is a systematic effort, a collaborative struggle.

WAR is a problem and yet a WAR is a solution.

IDEA

Violence always was. Violence will always be.
State-corporate partnerships that fight to seise strategic zones control violence by exploiting fear to carry on their operations.

Foundation of war are as solid as foundations of states. War has its own industry, its economy, its culture. All has been interlaced and entegrated. Ones that benefit from others' atrocities have adopted the act of dying and killing as a complex mechanism. This mechanism determines the circulation of weapons, natural resources, money and people. Humanity takes its course as what this mechanism dictates to fragmented folks. Blocks of people in love with their identities attack other identities with hatred.

Discriminatoion is systematic.

Control of access to information and resources is the most important factor that leaves people vulnerable to exploitation. Wars that come to exist through ignorance and poverty produce more ignorance and poverty, and thereby the cycle is reproduced.

Information and empathy are two forces that can convince people not to fight wars. Information and empathy are also two forces that allow people to wage war against mechanism of war. For a state of nonviolence a fierce war has to be given.

- - in TURKISH - -

Şiddet hep vardı.
Hep olacak.
